Can I limit Wireless connection speeds?

I recently had broadband installed into my flat. The guy beneath me has asked if he can use my internet and pay a certain amount per month to me. He has said he only needs to use it a little to check emails etc. I know the guy a little and I'm fine with him doing that and the extra cash towards it would be nice. My only concern is if he uses it for more than he says.

My PC is wired to the router, I have only setup the wireless for his benefit. before I give him the password etc is there a way to limit his connectivity/speeds? Only to something that wont effect browsing/emails

Is this possible? Are there any other things I should be concerned about that I haven't thought about?

You could do it with a router that allows you to set up QoS policies. I'm pretty sure any DD-WRT capable router can do this, but I've never actually used DD-WRT myself.

Not used a WGR614, so maybe someone else can comment on whether it's possible to do QoS with that.

However I did check the DD-WRT site and can see thw WGR614 on the supported devices list, so if you're comfortable with installing a 3rd party firmware on your router, that's the way to go.

Pretty sure it'll support QoS of some kind. But i'd still advise putting custom firmware on it if possible as it'll usually give you more options.
