Can I Park here.

Also the grassy part is actually part of like a big junction box thing. The access to that is at the very bottom of that street.

Its a station of somekind anyway.

I think you'll find that the yellow line and as such the restrictions are enforceable for the bays as well as the road, otherwise the yellow line would be barred at either end of the bay entrance.

Really?

So what is the purpose of the bays?

Just had a quick look but lost the page and it says yellow lines prohibit parking at the roadside?

Parking outside the restrictions, so after 6pm until 8am.

I've seen this before, our local council was forced to add extra signage to indicate that the restrictions were valid for the bays opposite as well as the road itself, due to the amount of confusion caused.

Waiting restrictions
Waiting restrictions indicated by yellow lines apply to the carriageway, pavement and verge. You
may stop to load or unload (unless there are also loading restrictions as described below) or while
passengers board or alight. Double yellow lines mean no waiting at any time, unless there are signs
that specifically indicate seasonal restrictions. The times at which the restrictions apply for other road
markings are shown on nearby plates or on entry signs to controlled parking zones. If no days are
shown on the signs, the restrictions are in force every day including Sundays and Bank Holidays.
White bay markings and upright signs (see below) indicate where parking is allowed.

From DVLA. Albeit very basic. What defines verge? And the confusion re/ the bays as well. Which road marking supercedes the other essentially.

If you googlemaps 155 fisherton street, salisbury and look at where apollo blinds and takidir on the roundabout, you will see a yellow line opposite some parking bays with restrictions like those you mentioned.

The bays are also subject to those restrictions, even though the yellow lines are not in the bays themselves and double yellows stop prior to the bays.

As long as the sign you mentioned is on the same side as the bays, they are restricted. this is what caused the confusion in Salisbury, hence the added sign.

I wouldn't risk it, I agree it's confusing. Don't be surprised if you get ticketed. Why not use the Carpark down the street?

The carpark costs a bomb thats why :)

Most days I have a space available to me and today I didn't. Chucked it in there. If I get ticketed I get ticketed, I think it is council owned the land as its not connected to anywhere. Although it is a weird place so hopefully the ticket man doesn't notice me as its off the edge of most patrols.

If you do get a ticket, you may have grounds to appeal due to the confusing nature of the restrictions.

What makes you think you can park there? Is it your land? do you have pemission?

Unless I'm told I can't why shouldn't I?

Works both ways. There is nothing even to sggest who it belongs to and all the buildings around have their own parking.

Also the thread title is "Can I park Here" so its safe to assume what I'm trying to work out....

For the same reason you wouldn't park in someone's drive?

Blatantly different,

There is nothing to even suggest who's land this is. Which was my original point. If there is nothing signed to say its private property and it isn't obvious its private property can I park here?

For all I know its meant to be used, but the yellow line concerned me :)
