Can I pick your brains on tyres?

The sidewalls are pretty stiff - certainly stiffer than the GSD3s. Toyo supposedly engineered them that way to keep more of the contact patch on the road. I think the dry weather grip is exceptional.

Wont argue with the grip, can only comment on dry performance but they stick like ****.

I've heard people say the sidewalls are on the soft side and can only comment on my experience in a scooby with them on and they were certainly softer than i'd like.

still a very good tyre mind.....i think i'd go for the PX4's instead though.

Think i'm gonna the F1's from Camskill unless anyone shouts quickly with any better alternatives.

Rang the local garage where it's booked in to have some work done on it this week and he said he'd do it for a couple of quid each so can't argue with that and means I only lose it for one day to get everything done.

F1's from Camskill at £70 a corner are an excellent deal - the F1's have been the Contisport Contacts in every Autocar and Evo tyre test since 2004.

Interesting as I'm due new tyres again very shortly (again :o) in the same size, was contemplating trying some new tyres but it seems the eagle F1s are the way to go again.

Was considering going to 215 40 17 so I could get paradas but I'll just stick with oem fitment size.

Can I ask what you think of them since you've got them fitted already?

I think they're pretty good, good grip in dry and wet conditions, my gripe is that they haven't lasted very long for me, however they aren't given an easy life and wore in about the same time as my old contisport 3s, so I'd put it down to my driving than the tyre.

For the price camskill are selling them for, it's very very hard to recommend anything else.

Excellent I'll bung an order in. Very tempting to get 4 since I'm pretty sure one of the back is slightly out of shape.

I cancelled before I ever turned up at a place for fitting. They tried sending me to three different places for fitting. i went to one place and it had shut down, went to another at the agreed time and it was closed...

They didn't know their ass from their elbow.

Doesn't surprise me, the garage I have used in the past is no longer on the list, who dumped who, I don't know, but they always used to complain that BC sent customers there without informing the garage, or booking people in over lunch, or telling the garage the customer was coming am, and telling the customer to turn up pm and so on.

Having said that, I haven't had any issues with any of their other garages, so maybe it was that specific place being useless... or maybe not.
