hi folks,

I'm looking to get a 24" LCD from ocuk for £220. It has 1 dvi and 1 vga connection. I have a dvi to hdmi connector that I got with a gfx card so the ps3 can connect to the dvi (except for sound)

Are there any connectors I could pick up from my local electrical store that I might need a MAP to find (wink) to connect the wii to the vga of the monitor. Would I need to buy a completely new cable?

For sound I have some speakers so I'm going to get a 3.5mm splitter cable and plug both the ps3 and wii into it (with appropriate connectors)

Thanks all

Your PC should go into the DVI and the PS3 into the HDMI.

As for the Wii, a VGA box convertor will do just fine which you can find at places online.

EDIT - Just re-read properly and seems like your LCD monitor does not have a HDMI port, my bad :(.

I found this online for the Wii

GOLD PLATED NINTENDO WII VGA CABLE
THE ULTIMATE IN PICTURE QUALITY
Please note this only works on ANALOGUE devices

Allows you to place your Nintendo Wii on your:
(1) Analogue VGA Monitor
(2) Analogue Plasma Screen
(3) Analogue LCD Screen

Features:
Gold plated VGA connector
Gold Plated audit leads

Would that work?

As for the monitor, it would be this one.

Hmm my wonder box from a well know high street retailer of components, etc has died for the second time, so i went for a ps3/wii to vga cable. They seem to all be the same as the VDigi (though they are currently out of stock).

Any thoughts on these or are they all gonna do the same job? Cheers!

hey,

I got my cable but am struggling to get my wii working with it. I have it plugged in to my tv via component. I can't select 480p from the tv type menu. When I try the VGA cable my tv doesnt even recognise a VGA connection. I have tried it into my monitor too and it doesnt work in that either. My VGA port deffinately works on the tv as my media centre is usually plugged into it. Is there any steps I need to take to get it to work?
