Can I really have two mice develop the same problem?

I had a Razer deathadder for about a year before the left button started to become hyper sensitive and would keep double clicking after a single click. I tried all the obvious things of reinstalling drivers/software, trying a different USB port etc but nothing helped.

I returned it to the retailer and got Roccat Kone XTD to replace it and after just a couple of months it has developed the exact same problem. Again i've tried everything i can think of to rule out software issues or USB port problems to no avail.

If it isn't a coincidence then I really dont know why it's happened again because I really dont abuse my mice. I dont game much any more so it's only a general web browsing type of workload its subjected to.

Am i just unlucky or could it be something i'm doing without realizing?

Thanks

No they usually do go like this. I had a Imperator mouse and that developed a double click issue, Razer support was useless and didn't even replace it for me.

Razer products in general are over hyped,The build quality just isn't there...especially for what you pay.

You would be much better going with a Logitech,Their customer support is second to none too,Thats all i buy now.

Yeah Logitech are decent, I managed to get a used G500 for £8 which I used as a filler until I got a new mouse on a good deal.

The only mice (out of those I've used) I've found that have stood upto more than 6 months gaming abuse have been the MS WMO 1.1a and Zowie FK series - I've used a lot of Razer, Logitech, Steelseries, etc. mice over the years and none have lasted long under the same demands with the left button doing the double click thing a common fault.

The mouse I replaced my G500 with is a Cooler Master Havoc which I took a punt on here on a sale for £20 and it has been decent, brought in June 2015 and still running decently even now. If you look at reviews quite often you will find which switches the clickers use which will tell you how many keystrokes it will last (theoretically).

Standard Chinese omron switch problems. I know why mice makers continue to use them as they're about 20 to 40p each whereas the Japanese switches are about £2 each. You can either replace the chinese switch like for like or solder on a new japanese switch.

I made a guide on replacing them here: https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18722096

Not suprised as the legendary MS mice used japanese omrons and Zowie use Huanos (which are often criticised for being kinda stiff)

I like my MX blacks for gaming keyboard wise so stiffer mouse switches don't really bother me.

(I had to be so careful with the wording there).

I have an FK1 now but I am undecided about the switches. I might solder on some Japanese Omrons that I have in my drawer.

I've had a razer lachesis for 6 years now and not had any issues. I've never understand the hammering razer get. Maybe I got lucky but either way thats really unlucky OP.

The Asus ROG Spatha uses Japanese Omron switches. Yeah the mouse is expensive but reviews are good and with quality parts like the switches, it should last.
