Hello, basically, as the title says! im new to apple so dont really have a clue whats about (i have an iphone 12 , a few months old as my first and only apple kit) Im looking to buy a new, cheap ipad to use as home control, will it work without too much in the way of getting extra stuff to make it work?
I will need it to work with (all in one room, not bothered about controlling whole flat):
Phillips Bridge
Phillips Hue light bulbs
LG C1
Marantz amp (at work so i cant recall/check the model, but its brand new and recent)
BT Youview box (think made by humax?)
I currently have a harmony elite which worked with above setup (when i had it all EXCEPT i had a sony tv and onkyo amp, all other items as listed) but now i have a new amp and tv, its stopped sending commands properly, or only does so intermittently.
Given the remotes are no longer made, i thought id go through the route of an ipad. Would that work? Also, apart form the bridge and lightbulbs, all my AV equipment is wired into ehternet switches, would i have to also turn on wireless on the devices to work with an ipad, and woudl that interfere with a wired connection?
