Can I scan a photo to get a digital copy?

First post in Photography

- though I'm only popping in for help, I'm certainly no photographer :s

I've got a couple of old photos that I want to scan in and save, but I don't have a scanner and neither does anybody I know. Is there a place I can take photos to get a decent quality image? Failing that, is there anybody here who could do it if I post them over? Happy to tip

I am staggered that no-one you know has a multi-function printer..... :confused:

I don't anyone who has one (with the exception of work with their HUGE Hp CM8060s), and I'm the only person I know who has a scanner (as I'm forever scanning stuff for people. I assumed they were not that popular.
