can i test how secure my networks and pc's are?

Hi all,

I was wondering if there were a software or website where i can run some sort of security test to test how secure my network and pc's are from possible internet attacks?

you can try using something like nessus - but its for unix and you would need to do it externally from your local network.

Thanks lads, It would seem i am very secure, nothing can get through at all, I am aware though that my network and pcs can never be fully secure especially whilst using Windows and partly Wifi.

nmap/shields up are only checking if there are ports open from the internet. As a test of security, it's not the whole picture by any means and a lot of it you can't do with an automated test.

Shields Up is also guilty of scaremongering to sell crud - for example, it'll moan if your router responds to ICMP echo requests when blocking ICMP will break your internet connection...
