hey guys, my pc is getting noisy cos of the water falling to far and splashing in the res.
so its time to top up the wwater.
i dont have any of the thermaltake green water.
but i do have a new, fresh bottle of de-ionised water.
can i top it up with that? or do i have to add something else to it ?
Rick

draining the full system is not an option :(

topping it up with new de-ionised water will be fine, the anti corrosion agent will still be in the system so not a problem there. possibly the next time you are wanting to fill it up then you could think about adding some more stuff.

so it will be fine.

cheers... i heard something about anti freeze as an anti corrosive or anti bio ? is that true ?
also am i right in thinking that de-ionised water is none conductive... obviously not when mixxed with soemhting else it will be though

I use good ol' Zerex Racing Super Coolant. It is apparently the best additive according to wc101 (was it them?). Turns the water pink but easily remedied with some UV Dye.

cool... ill bare that in mind for a future rig...
just topped mine up. what a difference it makes tot he noise ! my PC doesnt sound like a gardencentre anymore lol

hasnt made any differnece to my temps lol.
maybe this is the last top up this kit will see :P ( read my other thread)

pink would be cool too... i have a bit of a RED RED RED thing going on :P sure i can make way for a bit of pink :P... the GF might like it lol.

anti-freeze doesnt act as anti-corrosion simply alters the freezing and boiling points of the water in the system, and makes it more fluid (interrupts hydrogen bonding through the water). So u would have to take the advice of others generally been known to be able to get anti corrosion stuff from halfords.
