The title says it all really. I have inherited an iPad where the connection port is buggered therefore meaning it can't be connected to a PC. Is there any way to update the iOS other than USB?
Thanks for the suggestion by the way, didn't realise you could just get the port replaced.
The PC registers the device being connected and charges at a very very very slow rate but states USB device has malfunctioned. Tried with macbooks also with no luck...
Tried it with a couple of PCs and Macs but still have the same issue that it is not recognised. Separately, the time to charge the thing is about 12-18hrs...
Thanks, may have to look at doing it myself. Two phonecalls made so far:
iStore - unable to help but suggested taking to to official Apple Store but imagined that the whole unit would need to be replaced rather than individual components - circa £200...
Apple Store - told me I need to book an appointment at the Genius Bar about a week in advance and weekends are notoriously busy. I've heard about this appointment malarkey before - very annoying!
