Basically I have one router downstairs and my desktop is upstairs. I don't want to bother with drilling a hole in the floor to feed a cable through.

So what I want to do is put another router in my room and connect it to my router downstairs. Then use a cable from the router in my room and connect to my pc like that. Is there a way of doing this?

I found this CLICK

But don't know if it will work.

thnx!

Depends on the routers you have.

I believe the type of networking is called WDS or something. If you get good wireless signal in your room though you may be better served with a pci/pci-e/USB wireless device rather than a second router/access point.

If you don't get a good signal then your idea won't work and you'll need to run a cable, use powerline or use a wireless repeaters half way.
