Can i use a wireless ADSL router as an access point?

My Linksys wireless ADSL router drops the internet connection all the time So i was wondering whether i would be able to use it as an access point, and just use the old ADSL router (wired) to make the internet connection? If i can do this, how do i go about it?

Yes. Connect one of the LAN ports on the wireless router to the ADSL router, disable DHCP et al, and off you go.
