My current moniter has died as mentioned in a thread before hand.. it just kinked out and ceased to work, i don't have the funds to replace that moniter currently, and all i have is a pretty good 3 month old laptop,

I know this laptop has a vga slot

is there anyway i can
make this laptop conect to my desktop pc or use it as a primary display for it,?
if all else fails i'l just hook up a sata cable to acess some things,

I expect the VGA slot on the laptop is out only for projecting the laptop to a monitor, so I wouldn't think so. You could always post the laptop make/model just to be sure.

The VGA port on the laptop is output from the laptop. Its not input to display on the laptop screen. I doubt any laptop has the feature to double as a emergency screen for a different PC. However If you are diss-assemble a broken laptop i'm sure in some scenarios (dependant on the design) if your handy with a soldering iron there would be something you could do. Why not have a go if your laptop is beyond repair?

Cheers in general i think i'l attempt to rig my pc to my tv on the morn as a alternative back up solution

My laptop is a toshiba satellite L675 but under some research during the day, and some asking around it does seem in general that the majority of known laptops can't be used in such a way
