Can my system handle a Nvidia 1080?

I'll be attempting one in my old 2500k (@4.6) setup

And i'll be trying one with my i7 2600k @ 4.3,currenty running an EVGA gtx 980ti.

I really don't think any of the CPUs mentioned will cause a bottleneck of note. Given most games are GPU limited a 1080 will only improve matters. For those that are CPU limited well if you cant play them now no amount of GPU will help!

Continuing the old CPU discussion....

I am hoping my o/c'ed hexcore i7 970 (4.15GHz) will be fine with a 1080.

Should be twice as quick as my current 780.

No issues with the PCI-E 2.0 is presume? I am running at x16.

How can you expect your system to handle the 1080 if it has no hands?
