Can only load pages using ip address on certain routers

Hi

On most routers I don't have a problem with the DNS, but I'm staying with my uncle this weekend and when I connect to the wireless there, I can use skype and I can access websites using the ip address, but I have issues if I try to use the actual name of the website.

I had the same problem at another friend's house. They had no such issue with their laptop. Which suggests the issue was with my laptop and not the router (which I'm reluctant to fiddle with as its not mine).

Run a malwarebytes antimalware scan..

Also, try using Google DNS servers on your laptop

Try going to a DOS prompt and typing netsh winsock reset then press enter. Then reboot your PC after it finishes.
