Hi guys.
I have been putting a gaming computer togeather and just wanted to have it all checked out to see how good it all is and if there is anything i would need changing. Also the type of frame rate i would be getting with it on games such as crysis 2 on ultra or high. The computers main use is for gaming and for recording gameplay.
Specs:
Motherboard:
Asus P8Z77-V LX Motherboard (Socket 1155, 32GB DDR3 Support, ATX, Intel Z77 Express, USB 3.0, CrossFireX Support, Dual Intelligent Processors 3)

ram 4GB corsair

Graphics card: Amd 6950

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.40 Ghz 8MB Cache Quad-core Processor - Black Edition

Power:Corsair CMPSU-600CXV2UK Builder Series 600W Power Supply

I am not sure how good this would be and also not sure if it will even all work together with the motherboard so could do with some help. The thing i am least sure about is how good the CPU is for gaming.

Also i left the HDD out because i already have one which i will be using and i am thinking of getting an SSD to run fraps on.

Thanks and hope i get lots of answers.
Jeremy

Ok i have got rid of the links sorry i did not realise.
So is what i put together any good. I was told by technician to get the 6950 (for certain reasons). I was originally getting a gtx 550ti but he said that would not be good enough.

I wouldn't bother with the older 6950 unless you get it cheap. I'd go for a Radeon 7870 or GTX 660 instead ;).

Im getting it for about £125 and that is around my budget for the graphics card. Sorry i forgot to mention i was going for as cheap as possible but also great for that price. My max spending was around £350 without VAT. So the actual price is around £420

Have a look at my spec above, only £10 more and includes 8gb ram.

So it will get these frame rates with this CPU and graphics card then?
Also if you know "can i run it". Is there a version of it where u put in the specs of the computer so you can see what a computer that you are building will be like?

Depends on what res you play at and various graphics settings you will want to use, the review will give a bull park figure, least it gives you / us a idea on what to expect.

I am not aware of a utility.

Can i overclock that CPU. Also how good is that CPU. At the moment on my laptop which is an alienware m11x r3 i have an intel® Core™ i3-2357M Processor
(3M Cache, 1.30 GHz)
This processor is not good enough for gaming. So will this I3 be any better.
(i know its the processor that is not good enough because i went on can i run it and on basically every game it came under the minimum specs)

On your budget the spec RJC has done is pretty much the best you can get, a very good graphics card for the price and a decent budget CPU, do your seld a favour and keep away from AMD at the moment.

If you could find the extra money ( another £85) get the i5-3570K which would be a nice improvment.

Dont judge your modile i3 with the one selected above.

BTW in you original post you had an AMD CPU with an intel motherboard which obviously wont work.

You cant overclock non K series cpu's, for that you would need the 3570k cpu as Attu90 mentioned.

The i3 is respectable for gaming, some people have even commented on how good some of the Pentium range is for gaming which is slower than the i3 in performance.

The motherboard specced will allow for use of K series cpu's and overclock.

Well i am likly to change the processor after a while of using it and more games come out with higher specs. But depending on how good the i3 will be i am not sure when. So i i3 better that the AMD i original posted or are there any better amd's that i can get cheaper?
