Can run any game @ max settings! (Pet hate)

I can't follow that link at work. Has he added the clock speed for each core together, by chance?

Regarding why people would upgrade a PC that can run anything at max - who's that guy in the Graphics Cards subforum who bought quad Titans and has upgraded since? People spending silly money they don't need in a specialist power computing store's forum, who'da thunk it.

Yes, he's claiming that 2 cores x 3GHz = 6GHz.

Gumtree adds are funny sometimes, i see 1 with a old amd x2 6000 and a 9800gtx, i think it was.

Can play gta 5 at medium to high settings.

Beats my system if so :p GTA 5 is a horrible vram leech, and my friend who a while ago told me it's silly to have more than 2gb of vram is a monster :D

You should have definitely asked that. I might start asking people these questions if yes ask if I buy it can I see it running said game.

There's an ad on there for a used gtx 980ti it's asking price is a bit too Expensive being more than a new one. it comes with the statement "can smash any game at max setting at 4K 60fps max settings any game!" Errm no no it can't but it's the fact he is charging more than the price of a new one I find funny.
I hope it's no one on here lol.

This is an absolute pet hate of mine and a bit of a rant.
Where in an ad for a gaming PC that's clearly way over priced and/or has ancient or lower end hardware.
You get the statement "can run any game at max settings" or something or other like that. And you look at the specs and think no, no really it can't.

I don't mind people saying that if the PC can actually do that but looking on most ads it seems 90% of the time someone is going to be hugely disappointed that what there buying will not come anywhere near running modern games or even slightly older titles at anything near max settings. I for one when coming back to PC ownership nearly fell for this good thing I did a bit of research. But many people won't, and shall just think it's a good PC as it's expensive and the guy said it will play any game at a certain level.

For the record I don't mean ads on this site as for one I don't have that privilege. But on a famous auction site and a famous local sales site. It's very prevalent. It's misleading and wrong.

It's a bit like those adds that claimed a PC had a 16 ghz cpu by bending the facts and adding each core speed together. At the time the truth was you got a quad core Bulldozer from what I remember but according to the add it was a 16ghz monster cpu.

We should just have a thread called "things for sale that are stupid - that you won't buy"

Here is a POWERFUL GAMING PC. <---Mods don't delete, nobody is going to buy it

Ooh it's even got a half height backplate

Classic sales wording to mislead the reader.

Reminds me of that news of someone buying an Xbox One console from fleabay only to get a printed photograph of an Xbox One console.
