You could probably use a very light cutting polish and get those out by hand. Unless the car is covered in swirls I don't see the value in getting a rotary/DA.

Thats not the only reason, the other reason is I want to make the whole process easier.
I watched some videos on it.
put polish on car
smear it with polisher while it is switched off
Medium pressure to begin with, each pass overlap 50% of the one above
light pressure as the compund begin to dry/disappear.
wipe with microfibre.
tbh, i probably start off really gentle, no harder than polishing by hand and always keep it moving.
I agree that polishing by hand is a PITA but so is getting the polisher out, masking everything up etc. Sure if you do it all the time then I can see why you would want to invest in one but to polish your car once or twice a year it seems like a lot of effort.
