Can someone explain DC to me please?

It was renewed for a second series but it won't be until after they do the Defenders series now.

I really can't picture her not appearing at least once in Iron Fist now, she's already confirmed for Luke Cage, it'd seem strange to break the tradition and her quasi-Coulson role at this point.

DC TV is way way way way better than Marvel's efforts (even though I like Agents..)

That's...open to debate. In my opinion:

The Flash is good
Arrow was good but has been getting worse and worse
Supergirl was pretty good
Legends of blah blah blah is atrocious
Gotham is good

Agents of Shield is great
Agent Carter was good
Daredevil is amazing
Jessica Jones is good

I'd say it's fairly even at the moment, the good shows are good but DC have some real stinkers at the moment. I still hope Arrow can turn it round but I almost gave up last season.

The Marvel Netflix shows are head and shoulders above pretty much everything else, films included.

I've grown tired of the "cram as many characters in as possible and make it one massive fight sequence" films. I much prefer the slower moving, single character focused stories of Daredevil and Jessica Jones.

Arrow was good until they added more characters. Gotham was good but I fear they are heading the same way. Flash is on that path too. And then Legends of Tomorrow just jumped right in with a cast of a billion who can never die and skipped over any build up straight to the guff.

In fact all the Marvel (MCU) films that are focused on a single character are better films than the multi character fight fests. I regularly have to pause the more recent ones so me and the GF can Google who the characters are as they get parachuted in with no explanation but an assumption that the viewers already know everything about them.

So Arrow - I'm just over halfway through season 1 but all I can think is it's just a massive ripoff of Batman.

The origin story is basically the same (rich man ends up on own spending years fighting and learning to fight somewhere in the east, loses family member*, comes home and acts as billionaire playboy in old mansion etc, uses gadgets and has own "bat cave" under nightclub. He even has Alfred and the tech insider in the family business) but which came first? Were the recent batman films (Batman begins DN and DNR) based fairly close on the batman comics or were Arrow and Batman comics basically the same?

*Ok, Arrow guy only loses father (so far)

Comic wise there are some surface similarities but that's pretty much it, they have vastly different characters and have been on different paths since the day in the seventies the arrowcopter (and the myriad of other arrow<insert object here>things) were deemed stupid.

Arrow on the other hand is quite happy to take the Batman lite stuff and play it through the roof.

Where did Smallville and that arrow come into things? :D Would technically Superman be about 19 in the Flash Universe because of Arrow, however as seen in Supergirl he is not.
