Can someone explain the gamerscore?

Gamerscore and Gamer pics (further down)?

Yo,

I done a search on here and the web, didn't find much. I understand how gamerscore works on xbox live, i.e. the more acheivments you get in games, the more your gamerscroe goes up.

I only got my 360 yesterday, and I got 360 gamerscore doing this and that, and just now I got a couple more acheivements on condemned, only to find my gamer score has gone down 200 pts? Is this whats suppose to happen? Do you lose points for missing acheivements in the game?

Just a litte explanation would be cool?

Your gamerscore can only ever go up, it will never ever go down. Are you sure your score went down? I've not heard reports of anyone having that problem elsewhere.
 
yep deffo came down, 100% sure of that! It was on 360, now its 150!

I will admit I hated maths at school, but don't need to be a genius to work this one out (I did get a calculator out to make sure though :) )

Damn, trust the bug to happen to me :(

Hmm you can't lose points off your gamerscore.
Basically, your score comes from achievments in games. Some achievements are hard but reward you with larger points (say 60 instead of 20), while common ones are between 10-30 or so.

You can figure out how many points you are supposed to have by looking at the Achievements on the 360 dash - I forget which page, but its easy to find. It'll list all the achievements you have for all the games, and how much each one was worth.
 
ill have a butchers now... but if it adds up to 150 that dont matter cos I had 360 before.

... Yeah 90 and 60 wwhich makes 150. But I had 360 before, so where has that gone I wonder? Hmm interesting.

lol, dude, seriously, it doesn't go down. If it was a bug, way more people would have reported a similar thing.

I assure you 1000000% that it went down, I know that for a fact. The fact that I have only just got my 360, and at such a low score, it will be easy to recognise it going down, and it has deffo gone down.

I've only got the one profile, so yep it was under the same profile.

Nope cos they are at a big fat 0. But now that everyone is certain it don;t go down... I'm wondering if it was at 130 or sumin like that and I am get confused?

Don't know what to think now... well I just plugged GRAW in for the first time, and done the training mission and the score went up this time, so maybe I was wrong? I'm sure it was 320 though?!?!?

Oh well, see if it happens again :)
 
A few bits and bobs you said you did, depending on games, 360 points can take a fair bit of work.

You must have been looking at the big 360 when you turn the console on, seems a bit coincidental that you had a magical 360 :)
