Hi,
My home network has normally been fine but yesterday LIVE was down and I wanted to use Xlink Kai. I forgot one of my routers IP settings so I had to reset it and start from scratch. Now I have kinda of got it working but I think its a mess. Here's my topology:
BT Home Hub connected to the Internet with the IP address of 192.168.1.254
This is connected to a family PC via Ethernet.
Also connected via Ethernet to another Netgear Router/switch which is in my room. This is connected to my PC and my Xbox 360. The IP address of this is 192.168.1.2
Now this is where things get complicated. My settings for my PC NIC are:
IP: 192.168.1.1
Gateway: 192.168.1.254
DNS server: 192.168.1.254
PC is working fine at the moment and no problems. But my 360 isn't. I am getting a MTU error. My Netgear routers MTU is higher that what MS require so that shouldn't be a problem. So it must be my BT hub, but the thing is I have never changed any of the settings on the hub and Live has been working fine.
So do you think my network is a mess or can anyone explain whats going wrong?
