I'm planning on getting this little lot when i get back home, does it all look ok on the overclocking front? I want at least 3ghz out of that little chip :)

What do you think? Any other recommendations?

Thanks, i'm a bit worried about the older pci-e graphics card i've bought. Now i dont know the name etc until i get home.

I might get a board with onboard graphics, just to be on the safe side so i can get it up and running

you should be fine with your existing pci-e express G/C no need to get an on board graphics;).

If you need to update your G/C try MM, no need for integrated graphics;).

The motherboard you have selected is an awesome o/c motherboard:D.

I know people still using 7300 series pci-e cards until they can afford to upgrade;)

with those specs your expectations are achievable:D, although chips do tend to vary regarding head room capacity for an X over clock;)

I originally planned to go for the GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC)

Would that be a better purchase or do i stay with the ocz ram?

Well i've just looked at the cheap pci-e card i picked up, i only wanted it to run windows, movies etc.

It's a ati radeon x300, reckon that will be ok?

im looking at about the same to, but i posted in the general hardwarre, and only got 1 reply :(

E2180 though instead of your E2140

no need for a case

OCZ RAM (same)

motherboard i was thinking the standard IP35 or the IP35 PRO over the "E" or the Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R

i'm also thinking e2140 or e2180? I want the best overclock possible..

What sort of psu is everyone running as well? I'm wondering if my old 300w psu will be upto the job in hand?

ive heard that the E2180 is the better one becuase of the 10x multiplyier, so it clocks better
and the E2180 is now in the "clearing" so for another £10 its worth it
