Can someone recommend a £65 case with a psu

Is it true that value psu are bad for your components.

'Value' is a bad word. It doesn't actually mean anything. Far better to buy a cheap case and a good PSU in my opinion.

That Akasa PSU will outperform any cheapo 800W PSU and it's very stable and quiet to boot. 3 year warranty direct with Akasa (Jerry will send you a new one inside a week if it goes wrong).

OK - so that's £72 with free postage, but it's a much better combination.

A reviewer said it comes with a 500w psu

No, it doesn't I'm afraid. There are only a couple of PSU manufacturers, so when you buy a bundled PSU, you are getting the most basic specification and you are, in many ways, buying a marketing story. They say it's a 500W PSU, but that will be 500W (peak). The actual continuous power output is generally much, much lower.

A company that puts it's name on a PSU has much more to lose than one that doesn't. I bet if you buy a Coolermaster case with a PSU in it, it won't have a Coolermaster PSU in it. It'll have a generic PSU.

And those reviews are riddled with errors unfortunately. They are a good idea, but it's almost like some guys got drunk one night and made up some 'reviews' and then posted them onto OcUK.

I must say I agree with this, I have seen some ridiculous reviews on the OCUK website.

IMO this currently hard to beat.
