Can someone spec me an fsx build please budget 2kish

Why the gigabyte over the asus? From what I've read the gigabyte doesn't oc as well.
So far I've been looking at this list

Asus v111 formula
6700k
Corsair vengeance ram as listed above
750 Samsung ssd 250gb as listed above.
The wd blue hdd as listed above.
Also a case from Amazon for £25. Avp venom white.

Comes to about £800 all in.
If I was to swap the board out would all the other bits work ok.
I'm assuming yes as most of it was posted anyway.
Just double checking lol.

How's that look?

You need to remove that link as it is against the forum rules ;)

There is no need to spend £300 on a motherboard. The Gigabyte Gaming 7 will easily allow you to overclock the cpu to it's full potential. Even on the best board there is no guarantee as to what overclock you will get (Silicon lottery).

That case looks pretty cheap and nasty. You also don't want to get one with a bundled psu as they are usually of very poor quality.

For Windows 10 you want the 64-bit version.

Ah ok il remove it lol.
Im not too fussed on the case really, as long it has decent ventilation etc.
I quite like the design lol
Ideally want a white one with blue lighting but only really want to go upto about £50
What about this?

Or this

In regards to the board I think you're right, il just go with that bundle. Seems a decent price.
Is that Corsair memory ok?
Is the price in the shop here the normal rate for Windows 10?
Seen it cheaper in other places but not sure what you get for that you know?

So how's this look?

Obviously windows 10.

I'm going to hold off on the coolers for now as a professional is building it up. If I need to get one il do it next week.
I'm keeping my 650 psu.
Il upgrade the other bits like monitor as I go along.
The ram I might change for the team delta

Before making your purchase, read and digest the link below, it's a little out of date tbh but will still help you decide where to spend your money if FSX is your thing.

Be warned, its an extremely long read ,covering everything you could think of to almost an extreme level, and as I say a bit old (refers to Windows 8 for example) but persevere as it still imo applies and works fine with Windows 10. Do have a notebook handy as there's an awful lot to take in, I found making notes key to getting my old rig to run FSX as well as it now does.

Incidentally, I optimized my install a while back when I had two GTX580's in SLI, changing to my 780ti has made zero difference for me, FSX simply does not need monster GPU's it's all in the installation and optimization imo.

I run FSX Steam edition on an old i7 870 (@3.8ghz) 8Gb DDR3 and a 780ti over 3 24" monitors @ 5760x1080 and it runs beautifully, FSX is about smoothness and no stutters not FPS rates, mine is locked at 30fps and rarely dips below that even at Heathrow which is an add on with lots of extra detail over the standard version.

The guide I linked to should be a revelation,it was for me. :)

Thanks for that. I'm going to keep my 780ti as I think it's quite a good card.
I think I've read that before as I've tried everything to get it run smooth.
It was OK once up in the air or at airports that were a bit less demanding but Gatwick and Heathrow was a big no no lol

In theory...... shouldn't make a difference where steam is installed. Once you are running FSX it will only look for FSX files not steam ones. Just make sure any addons for FSX are also on the SSD.
