Can someone take a look at this damaged chip please?

no changes whatsoever with it? voltage wise or even stablity? as that is surprising if 3 resistors can be chopped off with no apparent damage.

I used to be able to run it @ 3ghz with 1.45v. After my accident it can do 3ghz on 1.425v. I posted this over at Extreme and apparently its not
uncommon. Those 3 resistors have something to do with voltage regulation. At higher volts I may experience some issues, but I never have to take this chip over 1.45v.

Guess I'm just lucky...

LOL! I have mate, before I cut it. didn't really make much difference. I reached 3.1ghz but wasn't very stable. maybe under water or vapo it would be a 3.4ghz chip, but i'm on air only. I don't actually use the chip anymore, it just sits in the cupboard gathering dust! tonite, i'm gonna get it out and have a play...you've inspired me! LOL

I did this to my Opteron 146 - note the 3 resistors sliced off the left hand side during IHS removal. Works fine, in fact works better !!! LOL

Cool! Hold on, I'm just going to get my fx-60 so I can check it out for myself :D
I'll be back with a progress report soon :)
