Hi well i've been waiting for this Motherboard for a while now, and would just like peoples opinions of if i can improve the spec, and/or reduce the price slightly with not much loss in performance, and Yes i will be overclocking

Any input would be great, this is my 1st PC in 5 years and the 1st ever im going to build :o hope i dont screw it up!

im hoping it will last a while
as to the motherboard, No i dont other than what the few reviews i've found say, im just hoping its good :eek: (anyone know anything solid about it?)

put it this way my last PC lasted 5 years, but i bought that, and its been repaired under Warranty a few times, had 3 WD hdd's fail, and 2 Ti4600 graphics fail also..

No but other boards like the ASUS P5B-Deluxe, Intel Bad Axe 2, Abit AW9D-MAX
are all very good boards, overclock very well and a fair bit cheaper to.

The 3 boards that i have just listed have got very good reputations for clocking pretty high and being very stable :)

Thats a ridiculous price for a motherboard i think.

It probably wont help you overclock your CPU any higher not by that much anyway, certainly not worth the extra 80-120 pounds :(

If you do change the motherboard you can use that money to buy Vista :)

Sound advice tbh. The P5B Deluxe is a fantastic board.
 
Ok, i think i'll likely go for a cheaper MB then, may stay with 680i because im considering going SLi at a later stage hopefully to futureproof the PC some..

the other thing i was a bit unsure about is the Ram, i've read that frequency is svery important, but is the 4-4-4-12 that much benefit over 5-5-5-15 ?
i expect the fsb to be under 500 (1000 for the ddr2) :D i think the cellshock PC8000C4 will allow me to run tighter timings..
Or would i be better off going with cheaper ram, and maybe getting another 2Gb earlier :s lol

That Cellshock stuff is great Memory, 4-4-4-12 timings you wont get much better than that unless you want to pay a little extra for say the Team Xtreem Ram at C3.

Cellshock for the way, thats what im getting when i build my pc anyway :)

Other than that mighty expensive Motherboard you have a great setup similar to what im going :)

Just brought a PB5 Deluxe meself after many days of consideration. Must say that spec is a BiG PiLE oF sTeAMiNg sEx WeE!! *thats good btw :)
