Thats what terriers where bred for. We have had a couple and even when they havent been taught to hunt they instinctively will chase a rabbit. However, some of them have a habit of shooting down the rabbit hole and on occasion, can get stuck.

Best way of catching rabbit is with a gun imo. Although it depends on how well you can shoot.

Another old trappers way to snare rabbits is to hide behind a tree & make a noise like a carrot.
