Your running at default speed, shut down and go into the BIOS and adjust the memory speed, what motherboard are you using :)

Should say DRAM Frequency or something simular :)

Go into the BIOS > M.I.T (Motherboard Intelligent Tweaker) > arrow down to system memory multiplier adjust from auto ( this will be you cpu FSB X memory multilpier) save and exit :)

Page 39 off the manual.

Also scroll down a bit futher and adjust the memory voltage to 2.1v (DRAM Voltage)

Edit: Basicaly thats all your doing, speeding up the memory.

so what speed should i increase it to?im not sure if you like if you add the speeds togeter....my speed is 400mhz at the moment, considering there are 2 sticks of ram, does that mean im running at 800mhz?

Each module is able to run at 533mhz (1066 - PC8500) your running at 400mhz (800mhz PC6400) manual adjustment is required to run at correct setting's, I needed to do the same on my Gigabyte EX38-DS5.
As you adjust the multiplier this will change the memory frequency in the box above.
What cpu are you running.

alright so this is what the product is decribed as

Each module pair has been tested to run at DDR2- 1066MHz at a latency timing of 5-5-5-15 at 2.2V. The SPD is programmed to JEDEC standard latency 800Mhz timing of 5-5-5-18 at 1.8V. Each 240-pin DIMM uses gold contact fingers and requires +1.8V.

so all i have to do is change the speed to 533mhz and the voltage to 2.2V.......i dont have to change this 5-5-5-15 stuff?

No probs :)

If it is the same as my Gigabyte it will give several options, with number & a letter, highlight the first or 2nd one and you will see the speed change in the box, when you do this you will see what I mean.

Edit: In the BIOS it will show the full speed of 1066mhz or 800mhz, once you have adjusted the speed drop down another level you will see DRAM timing, adjust this from auto and you can then scroll down and adjust the settings to 5-5-5-15 then scroll down further and adjust the voltage to 2.1v.

ok so ive done exactly what you have said and it remains at 400mhz....i changed the speed to 533mhz,than timint to 5-5-5-15 and the voltage to 2.1...but it remains the same. I went into bios again and it says due to failure to boot as a result of overclocking or voltage changing, everything you see here may not be the actual settings? ahhh im annoyed:P
