Hi,

I'm thinking of finally upgrading my old agp/ide Pc and wondered if I move on to Sata drives for my operating system can I still use my old IDE drives for backup?

Cheers

You'll get at least one IDE port on all motherboards still, although on the newer Intel boards this is provided by a third party controller because Intel have dropped IDE support from the chipset.

So in short, yes you'll be able to use them but if you want more than 2 IDE devices (HDD or DVD) simultaneously then you'll need to look for a board with more than 1 IDE port.
