Right guys. The default colours are green and white. Green for your own messages and white for your recipient. This is the same scheme across all 2-way chats and group chats. I'm partially sighted and I sometimes mis-tell because the colours are uniform and I can't tell that I'm posting in the wrong chat.

What I want is along the lines of:

Friend A - green/white (as per default)
Friend B - blue/white
Friend C - red/white
Relative A - yellow/white

And so on... so the colour depends on who I'm WhatsApping.

Google gave me numerous links to digitbin.com but my browser refuses to connect to that site. Maybe harmful content?

Any advice greatly received. Bonus if it works on both desktop (WhatsApp web) as well as in the Android app.

They've cracked down on any modded versions, as above different wallpapers for each chat is probably the way forward.

Thanks guys. I've just looked and I can now see an option for wallpaper. I didn't notice it before. This is a good workaround for me, so I'll get setting backgrounds / colours that will help with visual cues to the person that I'm chatting with.

The wallpaper option sadly is global and not per chat - well it is on android anyway. Be aware too that folks in the past have been banned from the service for using modded clients. I think Telegram has per chat wallpaper but that is another discussion altogether.
