I could play L4D2 one PC (Desktop) and he could play COD4 on my other PC (HTPC)
Steam not allowing this is very bad..when you can do just with all boxed retail games
They could limit the logins to only two or three at a time..The trouble is, if you could log in multiple times, there would be nothing to stop you sharing your account with loads of mates etc.
Steam is just enforcing a policy that has technically been true of many games for a long time, it's just they had no way of stopping it.
Your not really sharing your account just by letting your mate play a game while there around at your house for a few hours....I'm pretty sure it's against the ToS to share your account, so they're not doing anything wrong. .
This thread is nothing about playing a single game on two PC'sPretty sure if you bought a game, you're only meant to play it on one PC at a time, you can't for example buy COD4 and install it on two PCs and legally play it against each other with only one copy - isnt' that why they always had CD checks?

Can you login to your steam account on two different PC's at the same time ???
More to the point: can i play two different online steam games from my account on at the same time on two PC's
I take it that this also includes that steam will not let me finish downloading a steam game on one system while i play a steam game on my other system..No.
Steam generally logs you out of the first computer when you log on to the second.
You're not meant to share your account, so Valve won't change it because you yourself can only play one game at a time...
