yeah cancelled my sky at home and got the 12month half price offered.
Really?! What was your original price?
You can, but as mentioned it would be against the terms you agreed to when you joined Sky.Hi all, just wondering if anyone knows the answer to the above?
If I can cancel my Sky subscription at the end of the 12 months and then sign back up as a new customer to take advantage of any offers I see knocking around?
I would be sure you are actually speaking to the Retention department, as the people you are dealing with there would probably earn commission on each 'save' they make. Unless of course you came off as very unpleasant and/or unwilling to change your mind. Not anymore. They used to but recently a lot of people have just being told "see you"
Only do this if you are prepared to go through with it.
Tbh if I lived in a Virgin area I would be with them and not Sky anyway.
I wouldn't quite use a term as strongly as fraud, but it is nonetheless stipulated against in the terms you agree to when you first join (even in other people's names or what-not). Setting up a new account is largely fine when at a different address however. How is it fraud?
If he uses the same name, same address, etc.. or his significant others name, then its up to Sky to accept the contract or not.
I think you're conflating corporate (as in what BSkyB's actual policy is) and personal (as in what the individual person you are dealing with understands these policies to be and what he gains by signing you up) levels here.Exactly. New customer does not mean new address or they wouldn't accept them
Sky's official line would be that you would be ineligible for that offer having taken a similar one before (i.e. when you joined).I always think its disgusting that you see offers like free installation, new hd box, 2nd box all free blah blah blah but as an existing customer of 10 years "yes, sir you want an HD box, that will be £100 plus fitting. 2nd box another £200 plus £10 per month"
When did you leave?
The channel launched in March 2012, and from a quick google they were saying exactly this as early as December 2011
Fair enough. Not sure I'd want to be watching the F1 in SD, though.I left before then, pretty much after the F1 Season finished. I still wouldn't have taken the HD offer in any case - I don't like the idea of having to buy something you don't want in order to buy something you do.
Regardless of what you might think, base subscriptions are the same across all viewers.Different name, different bank account number, email might do it.
When I moved house I used those and address and got new box, £150 cash back, £50 vouchers and better subscription.
I have noticed recently that companies seem a bit less willing to give you handouts when you threaten to leave. Vodafone gave me the 'see you later' speech while I had to backtrack with virgin, because I didn't want to go to sky and have to get a white trash dish on my wall.
You can;t as yourself but you can with your other half.
Me and my gf do the Sky shuffle every 12 months
Fraud.
