Can you connect a floppy drive to IDE?

I need to have a floppy drive but my mobo doesnt have a fdd socket. It only has 1 spare IDE socket. Can you do it? the socket on my fdd is smaller than the ide socket on the mobo. Is there an adapter cable?

No you can't. Are you sure there's no floppy socket? Even in this day and age I struggle to find a mobo that doesn't have a floppy socket.

I know! Mobo is an Msi ms-7357. i've looked at the manual and it shows it there but lo and behold, when I look at my board there's just an empty space next to the IDE socket where it should be!

Looks like a cut-down OEM board :\ in that case then an USB floppy drive is the only way.

why do you need a floppy is it for a boot disk? if so you can make a usb stick bootable.

Didn't read the FAQ about 'competitors'. I understand the reasons but if any company has competetive prices why would they worry about others?

What about an LS120 drive, im sure they were IDE floppy drives that read 120Mb and 1.44Mb Floppy disks

Get one of these for the floppy drive.

Then get one of these .
