Been having a play about, speccing myself some bits and bobs for a new pc...

A gaming pc, but with a few cutbacks..

Cheapest intel coreduo,19inch tft, x1900xt, 2gig ram, and the dq6 gigabyte board (saves having to buy a soundcard then) and a case [v1000+, but case isnt needed atm, can get later on if it cuts the budget]

Can you do a tower with these bits, + monitor for under 1k?

Also, whats with the gigabytes and picky ram? The gskill world record stuff I've been dribbleing over, will it work or? :/

Have a crack at that then :)

The x1900xt in clearence for 200quid is DAMN nice, but I don't have cash atm so I doubt thats gonna be there in a while..

Always got MM to look to for a few bits though ;)

Its a bit over budget but you said you might get some parts from the MM, so that could get it back down to your budget :)

would really need the gigabyte mobo, for overclocking the nads off the core2duo, and then would the ram allow for a good oc?

Also oem + a scythe mine for oc'ing?

Seen a psu and an x1900xt in mm i've placed interest in, so might be able to wiggle a few things about :D Nice to know its actually do able though, cheers :D
