Can you do realtime graphics performance monitoring?

Is it possible to monitor the performance of a graphics card in realtime, similar to how you can see memory and cpu utilisation in task manager?

We have a CAD machine at work with an FX1400 Quaddro card in it and whilst processing some 3d work it seems to slow down for no obvious reason - memory usage well within limits and CPU showing 2 to 5%. Thinking it may be the graphics card but not sure how to confirm that?

Good question, Only thing that springs to mind is listen to it's cooling fan speed :)
I'm not sure something like Fraps (a fps indicator) would work
