The reason I ask, is cos the motherboard fan controll does a rubbish job of it. Its a asus m2v board, and ive change the cpu cooler for a freecer pro, but I just cant get the board to control the speed right, its either too fast or too slow. But i guess it dont help that the cpu temp is are single figgers when idel, and ive updated the bios to the latest version

All the fan controllers are 3pin not 4 pin so a cpu fan wouldnt fit??

What programme are you using to check temps, I highly doubt you are getting single figures, unless your living in a cold store :p

yeah temps are screwed. ive tried coretemp, everest, realtemp. the ave cpu temp looks ok, idel 28-30, load 36c, think the load should be higher then that tho. The actual core temps are so wrong tho, idle: single figgers, load: just in the double figgers.

Ive jus been reading the manual, and it says "this connector is aslo compatable with the old 3-pin cpu fan" So would this do the job?

The freezer pro 4 pin wont fit into the Zalman.

The motherboard fan header for the cpu fan can take 3 or 4 pin.

See below.
