Our 10 year old toaster has finally given up the ghost and I'm looking for a replacement but literally every one I've looked at in the shops has 5" long slots whereas my existing one is 6.5" and fits various breads a lot better!!!

It seems ridiculous that toaster manufacturers don't appreciate that people want to toast bigger slices!!!

Well a quick Google brought up the LOGIK L04TBS12 4-Slice Toaster, which looks like it might fit the bill.

If the slots are wide enough, make sure it also has enough depth or you'll still have the same problem.. Also, why do toasters have such sensitive controls? I can set mine up perfectly so it actually browns the bread, but if a gnat flies within 80 meters of it the air turbulence can knock the controller +/- 1 atom and it'll either be white soft spongy squares or jet black carbonised tiles

Am I the only one disturbed at the thought of what I think the OP's going to do with his new toaster? It's certainly a niche fetish.
