This has been gaining a lot of momentum on various forums around the place, so no doubt some of you may have already seen this. And I apologise if it's already been posted here, but I couldn't find anything at a quick glance.

ORIGINAL THREAD: http://bbs.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-general-1/947972-losing-my-son-please-help.html

hi all i cant believe im about to say this but here goes i have just been informed that my 11 year old son has around 4 weeks to live for those who dont know he had leukeamia aged 2 and beat it then last year we had the devastating news that he had a cancerous brain tumor they operated and removed it and we thought all was well until friday when we were given the news it had returned in 2 places and there is nothing more they can do to help him as you can imagine we are totally devastated and have to try to make the most of our time left with our little boy so heres where i hope you can all help me i promised him a few weeks ago before i found out about this that i would take him to a car gathering as he is a massive fan of sports/modified cars mainly subaru,s evo,s etc but i cannot find one so i thought i would try arrange one just for him so i can keep that promise!
i have arranged with FRED LAWTON LTD MELTHAM MILLS INDUSTRIAL ESTATE, MELTHAM HUDDERSFIELD,HD9 4DS to be able to use there car park for the gathering which i would like to hold on saturday the 8th of september starting from 1 pm. everybody and every type of car is welcome so please please please come if you
can make it and make my little boys day a special one thank you all in advance and please put your name down on your posts to this thread so i can get an idea of numbers.

Venue has a 500 car limit until they can confirm actual space

I know there are some nice cars on this forum, so I'm just trying to get as many eyes on this as possible. Cheers.

Let's give this little lad the best day ever!

It's absolutely heart breaking! I can't possibly imagine what the family must be going through! The response from the various forums has been incredible! A little faith in humanity has been restored.

So sad these sort of things, come on you Evo and Scooby owners, get your arse into gear as I know there will be loads and loads up there but MORE is always good. Step up boys and girls.

I suspect spreading this to help out might be a double edged sword as there doesnt appear to be any controls on the numbers? I think potentially way more people will turn up then expected for the venue ....

You could be right there, but the venue will just have to cope I think.

What a terrible time the kid has had, to finally get through 2 lots of devastating news and have one last blow is just unfathomable.:(:(

Poor lad as if he hasn't suffered enough he is then given 4 weeks to live. :( Wish I had an Evo I'd take it there & let him drive it.

the cynic inside me always wonders if this is legitimate.

On the other hand, im pretty sure you could offer a few quid to someone with said car to take him for a drive than try to get 500 cars in 1 space for 1 11 year old child to look at.

Id go onto he forum get a moderator/someone reputable and say can you give me and my lad a spin.

Does sound tragic though.
