Can you help fix this picture?

Slightly too airbrushed on the faces on that one. Maybe try get rid of the kind of haze over the image too, darken/lighten areas.

yeah I agree, I think the first one I did looked better, but I can't seem to recreate that, and the first one isn't really a very high res.

My attempt may have slightly higher image noise, but i have tried to slavage/retain what little detail was present and focused on ensuring the colours were accurate.

Retained 7x5 aspect. I have a high res version if you want it.

I really like the cleanness of this image but it just has a bit too harsh a processed look where the people look like they've been placed onto the background, can that be blended more?

Sorry for the delay in replying, I've been visiting my 10 day old nephew today!

Cheers for that although they now look a bit orange? Is that what happens when it's lightened?

Not usually!

I was trying to brighten it without losing the contrast, so was using the shadow/highlight adjustment in CS3. Protecting the highlights seemed to up the saturation a little too much, and although I knocked it back a bit, it was late and I guess I was tired!

Anyway, just reducing the saturation on the pic using any basic editing program should achieve what you're after, or if you haven't got any photo editing software, then let me know and I'll upload another one.

Ta!

EDIT: Uploaded a couple of different sizes with the adjustment I mentioned...
