I can quite easily lie to anyone sober or drunk.

Alcohol removes your judgement, making you more inclined to do things that you want to do, but would normally be afraid to do. If you want to lie then you will certainly be able to do so.

In fact one of the defining characteristics of being drunk is exaggeration, which is borderline lying. How many people have you heard mouthing off in pubs in slurred speech?

The quality of the lie my well be affected though.

Their lies is better but the consequences are 10x worse hence why they're worse.
