my gpu is noisy as beep with msi afterburner its at 40% idle and the slider for the speed does not go any lower

is there any other way of slowing it down?

temps are at 24c idle so theres no need for it to be that fast.

if i have to flash it point me in the direction (its that bad)

thanks for any help

Which card is it?
I would try flashing with another mnufacterer's BIOS who do the same card, hopefully that should solve the problem.
Get someone to confirm this first ;)

Same as my GTX 460. I thought it was loud after I bought it but soon learned the same as you. The fan won't go lower than 40% which idles at around 28-31. If i listen to the fan at 45%,44,43,42,41,40 I can tell that it would be silent at around 35% which would probably only add a couple of degrees to the idle temp.

I think flashing the BIOS is the only way but I'm not doing that to a cool quiet card that works fine. I say quiet because in games the fan hardly increases at all. Sometimes I think it stays at 40%. A slightly quieter idle would be good though.

ok first of all you need gpu-z

run GPUZ and save the file which you can do by clicking save next to the BIOS version in GPUZ

http://www.mvktech.net/index.php?opt...leinfo&id=3437 download

open Nbitor and change bios to what ever you want clocks, volts, fans speed etc.

save it

http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads...20Windows.html download

un zip to your desktop name it "nvflash" and the put the modded bios into that folder

open up command prompt

click start and in the search type in cmd and open it

now type in command prompt "cd desktop"

then "cd nvflash"

then "nvflash.exe" plus "the name of your rom" eg gf104.rom

then "nvflash.exe i0 -4 -5 -6 gf104.rom"

then yes

then restart and my paypal addy it ***********@***********.com
