Can you overclock a 60hz cheap monitor?

I have a couple old 60hz monitors i got for cheap and are nice 1080p but i wondered if it was possible to overclock the monitors to somthing slightly more, 70hz for example?

Give it a go and find out. Look up software just as CRU or use the build in display overclocking function of either nvidia or the radeon software package. But in theory every display can be overclocked. If it wants to or not is a different matter.

I have an amd gpu. I tried the readeon software and it just said the monitor was 60hz, wouldnt let me up it at all.

It will depend on the monitor, I managed to get 70hz out of 6 year old IPS monitor a while back. There is not much difference though to be honest.
