I have £700 to spend, maybe a bit more.

I need all parts of the computer, including Monitor, keyboard mouse ect.

I will be using it for normal internet use. But i also use Photoshop CS2, 3DSM, Macromedia Flash, and some other programs such as this, i would like to be able to run more than one of these programs at once if possible.

Thanks a lot. Also i want the CPU to be made by AMD, and the monitor to be a flatscreen.

Hope you can help,
Upsher :P

Thats what I came up with:

CP-134-AM AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ (Socket 939) - Retail (ADA3800BVBOX) (CP-134-AM) 1
£183.95 £183.95

MB-134-AS Asus A8N-VM Micro ATX (Socket 939) PCI Express Motherboard (MB-134-AS) 1
£42.95 £42.95

MY-004-OK OcUK Value 1GB (2x512MB) PC3200 184pin DDR Memory Dual Channel Kit (MY-004-OK) 1
£48.95 £48.95

CD-030-NE NEC ND4570 16x16 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) - OEM (CD-030-NE) 1
£22.95 £22.95

CA-040-AN Antec Sonata II Piano Black Quiet Case - 450W Smart Power PSU (CA-040-AN) 1

£5.50 £5.50

KB-047-MS Microsoft Multimedia Keyboard v1.0 - OEM (N8600004) (KB-047-MS) 1
£9.95 £9.95

MO-012-AC Acer AL1916WS 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black/Silver (MO-012-AC) 1

yea that looks pretty good, i might go for the 20" wide screen instead of the 19" though.

I have a quick question

are raptors worth they money if im not playing any games? because i was thinking of getting the 150gb one.

From what I've heard there'll be a performance boost but I'd doubt it'd be worth almost 1/3 of your budget to get said boost, especially when it's only 150Gb.

do you play games...

the 7300gs is not all that great, i

f you are not gaming or overclocking this mobo will do you fine, it has an onboard gfx card nvidia 6250 so you will save a few quid :)

Asus A8N-VM CSM Micro ATX (Socket 939) PCI Express Motherboard (MB-119-AS) 59

However if you want to overclock get an msi keo mobo for £76....

CD-030-NE NEC ND4570 16x16 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) - OEM (CD-030-NE) 1
£22.95 £22.95

I'd change that to a pioneer 111 as the above dvd rw is noisey....

CA-040-AN Antec Sonata II Piano Black Quiet Case - 450W Smart Power PSU (CA-040-AN) 1
£63.95 £63.95

Id change the above to

Antec SLK3800BUK Black Quiet Midi Tower Case - 400W SmartPower PSU (CA-048-AN)

a raptor spins at 10,000rpm whilst SATA and ATA spins at 7200rpm.....if you are not gaming you wont see that much of a difference...

Hi

Which cooler would you use with this board and chip?

Would the A8N-VM CSM be a better choice if considering running M$ media centre or wouldnt you bother ??
Stone

I would prob use an arctic pro 64 with that board....

re: media centre...you would have to research it further i.e mainly due to sound etc I mean that mobo has a gfx card on it with TV/OUT which saves you having to buy a gfx card plus a mobo :)

TBH, i want the computer to be an all round system.

I will be mainly using it for graphical stuff, such a 3DSM.

But i also want it to be able to play fairly recent games pretty well.\

Your talking about using integrated GFX? surely that wouldnt be good for using graphical program like 3DSM and photoshop? and wouldnt that mean it would be harder to update in the future? i would have to buy a whole new mb, and graphics card?

Help me :P cheers.

PS. it would also be nice if i could overclock it, but if im asking too much for the money, thats ok :P

You could squeeze an Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro in that spec, it costs £18 and it is one of the best CPU coolers arround. When you feel like playing games you can also buy a graphics card, you dont need to buy a new motherboard because this one has a PCI-E slot.
