Bought i big upgrade from a competitor using 9 months interest free finance option, kit arrived yesterday. However I've had a change of plan and no longer need a small part of the order (£70 16GB DDR3 still sealed) and wondered where I stood on returning it for a refund?

I did pay 10% deposit on my card, if i can get a refund would they refund it to this card? never had to do anything like this before

Can you just not flog the RAM on the MM or something? You may take a small loss but you won't have any of the hassle that may result from returning a single piece of a large order taken out on finance. Your best bet for now though would be speaking to the competitor and asking them.

That's what my first thought was, 2 x 8GB Corsair Vengeance LP Black 16GB DDR3 1600 MHz CAS 9-9-9-24 XMP is going for about £50 on auction site, MM will probably be £40 and it cost me £70 so quite a hit :(

Never considered this situation. Wouldn't it be best to just ask them? Maybe they might offer a credit note against something of equal value if the finance terms are locked.

Yeah I'll send a message and see what they say. the finance makes it a bit difficult I think

Moses - I wouldn't like to redo the finance or complicate things I'd rather take the loss lol

I'm gonna pay it off on the month 8, let the money rest in my account ;)

I would have thought they could take it back, inform and refund the finance company and they would send you an amended finance contract by email (e-sig) with slightly lower monthly payment. They do it when you pay off some finance early.

The finance, although for the items, is a separate entity in itself... More likely you can return the item for a refund of the cost of the item but the original finance terms will remain e.g. term, monthly payments etc.

This is the reply I got

"With this being paid via finance, the amount would be removed off the finance agreement. Not actually refunded to your self"

I replied saying I wish to proceed as long as it doesn't effect the original finance agreement and they Sent me a RMA number so I guess it's OK!
