I have a ASRock Dual SATA II Mobo and im wanting to get a new primary hdd for running windows off.

I was thinking of getting a SATA II Drive but ive read that the speed is not that great, so was going to just get a 10k Raptor instead, but would i be able to run this in the SATA II Slot on my mobo, as both my SATA I slots are taken up with my other HDD's

4. Will my new SATA-II drive work on my SATA-1 controller?

- SATA-II drives are backwards compatible with SATA-1 controllers.
NOTE: Some 3Gbp/s SATA-II drives require a jumper setting to force them to run at 1.5Gbp/s or else some issues may arise. Some owners of 3.0Gbp/s drives may experience problems however as some older 'SATA-II' drives (when 'SATA-II' was first released) require a firmware flash of their drive (in which case the manufacturer will need to be contacted). These issues arose as a result of manufacturer's bridging chip and firmware conflicts.

I read your sticky and only saw the above, which didnt state you can use a SATA I drive in a SATA II slot, it says you can use a SATA II in a SATA I slot.

But thanks, just wanted it confirmed!
