Hi, I'm looking for a "will it run" type website for theoretical system. "Can you run it" scans your spec and tells if and how well you'll be able to run certain games, but I'd like to specify what components I am going to have for a future build/setup, rather than what I have now.

Does such a thing exist?

just look at the game specs.

Anyway, theres no guarantee what fps you will get, and apart from benchmarks, theres not a lot else!

I did say theoretical system, didn't I? :)

Yougamers, like Can you run it (which your URL links to, Unworthy), both scan your current system.

Sorry, Need my eyes tested :p

Most of these tools just go off the recommended/minimum specs listed on the box, So the closest you're going to get is just comparing the computer to those specs.

Yeah I was hoping for something more than that. Oh well.

What annoys me about "recommended/optimum specs" is that they never allow for what resolution you're playing at. 1280x720 requires drastically less GPU power than 1980x1200, which I play at.

My rule of thumb:

Look at the recommended specs.
Add 50% to cpu speed and RAM capacity, and 50-100% to GPU power.
That's the figure for decent performance at high settings.

In terms of simply being able to run (walk...) the game, any theoretical system should theoretically be fine providing it meets the minimum specification, which nearly all games list.
The problem is that acceptable performance levels are largely subjective, the closest thing to what you want will probably be looking at hardware review benchmarks on sites like firingsquad and interpolating the results.
