Hi,

I have a
"Seagate Expansion 5TB USB 3.0 Desktop 3.5 inch External Hard Drive"

which is performing well, but makes a slight noise when powered (more than my silent PC anyway).
Are there any enclosures that could be used to silence this type of drive?

Thanks for any suggestions.

I would suggest you to try download and install Hard Disk Sentinel software, click Disk on menu and go to Acoustic Management Configuration to turn down acoustic level all way down. It helped my 2TB hard drive a bit.

Let me know how you get on. :)

I have two of the 3tb seagate.
I put them both on top of a folder sheet of bubble wrap, and in a draw under my desk with the wires going round the back. Works well 0 sound from them compatewto a slight hum otherwise.
Use a program to turn if and on.
