Can you stop azureus from uploading?

Not everyone has dual core processor's and two gig of ram. You probably wont see any problems when u have Azzie running with your current rig.

Believe me, when you only have 1Gig of RAM and a XP2600+, you notice the difference. I have streamlined XP to make it more responsive. Why would I use a program that requires the Java platform when I can use one that doesnt to achieve the same affect? Especially when the program uses less resouces than Azzie??

I still think 5kbs is low, but you say you have it unlimited when your not downloading. So benefit of the doubt to you, however, what % of the time are you not d/loading, and what ratio each torrent do you seed?

Bittorrent programs use hardly any cpu power it's not much of an issue, at least it never impacted my performance on my old athlon 2600 1gb of ram.

i have Az running on an old p3 650 with 256mb of ram without aproblem and i can still do other things on it, I dont know what you guys are doing to your setups but i have never found it to be a resource hog.

Running XP alone on 256Mb of RAM is horrific, I couldn't imagine running Azzie on top of that. I assume your running one other application then.... Probably notepad...

i have always ran az 24//7 with no problems, when downloading set uploads to 5 kb otherwise set it to unlimited. has never affected any program whilst it is running

just give utorrent a whirl, its so much better, java is a POS imo, only really useful for certain web apps, whether it makes a noticable impact on your system or not, azereus is a hogger, utorrent doesn't affect even pii400 machines

i usuall d/load 1 torrent then i will seed it until 1:1 ratio and download nothing else then stop it, but keep it in az incase i need to seed again.
