Can you tell who it is by their posting style?

I've been using forums for only a few years and normally recognise people from their sigs or avatar. As a rule I use the same username and sig wherever I am lurking. A few people have said that they can recognise people on other forums who are the same person using a different username from their posting style alone. Well today for the first time I could tell purely from the posting style who this person was. It's a changed username and I didn't know the sig. It was none other than our very own Gillbot renamed Santa :D

Can you spot people from their posting style or rely on sigs? Spotted anyone you know from here elsewhere using a false name?
 
I can, aye.

I bet people can't guess me though, OK, maybe you would if I wasn't between name incarnations, but, I tend to actually use a completely different posting style for different forums.

Although, I appear to have gone comma mad in this post, which nullifies all of the above.

Lol, we all can... :p

I can tell some people from the way they talk and type. Usually I go by the sig. If it's someone I know more then it's easier to tell just from the posting style. Saying that though some people are easy to spot.
 
I don't use other forums. Well no big ones any way. So no. The sig is what I recognize. Subconsciously at that :eek: Far to much time on this forum.
 
I spot a lot of active users from their sigs and i tend to look out for certain ones as i know they are bound to provide a good read..
 
I just suddenly thought if it's not Gilly I'm going to look pretty stupid :p

Cliffy has sigs turned off :eek: looks ood like that. I use some parenting forums but they don't have sigs at all so you have to get to know styles as the names can change a lot too.

Hehe :p. It's weird being on the one I use now as I always notice the swearing a lot more, they can change names and not have them linked too so it's anon posting. Odd, feels so wrong to me to post anon when you want to have a go.
 
If it starts with "Hi There" i brace myself for numbers, giant text and links to the shop.. i have to.. have to save the credit cards! either that or its about an M3 CSL/Corvette/Nissan GTR/Mustang.. all cars i would gladly have but the credit card would faint at..

I have just finished the work which I needed to do today (and hence, as I am, and was at the time, on the computer, I thought it to be a good idea, as always, to check the usual websites, which includes this website, "Overclockers UK").

It seemed to me to be evident that the time indicates a relatively atypical "lurking time", considering that I do have more work tomorrow.
