Can you use socket 2011 in 2011-v3?

Hey guys

may need a new mobo and i have a 3930k processor.

Wil it be possible to use it in a rampage V 2011-v3 board? or are the sockets totally different?

Just wondering as i cant see 2011 boards for sale, so im going to have to buy something else! Which i take it means new DDR4 ram as well...

You want X79 boards.

Yeah it was superceded by X99 this time last year.

Or you could look into sourcing a second hand X79 board. Would work out cheaper than a full upgrade.

yeah that would be ideal, just not looking good after a quick scan

Most of Asus boards have a 3 years warranty.

ill take a look, i dont still have the box etc though, is it with OCUK or ASUS? I cant find anything about it

It would be with Asus, pop on there website and go on the support area.
